About Scorpion
📖Biology and behaviour
Scorpions are nocturnal arachnids that hide under stones, in cracks, wall voids, firewood and piles of debris during the day and come out at night to hunt insects. In parts of India, such as some regions of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, the red scorpion can cause serious stings, particularly in children.
They enter buildings through gaps under doors, through drains and roof edges, especially during or after the monsoon, in rural homes, farm sheds and new developments built on previously open land.

How Scorpion is controlled
Integrated approach🧪Control methods
Reducing clutter and dark harbourage, sealing entry points and routine inspection are the main preventive steps; a PCO's residual perimeter treatment helps with a persistent indoor population.
👷When to call a professional
Scorpion control needs inspection of the outdoor and indoor harbourage, sealing of entry points and control of the insects they eat. A licensed PCO can plan this. If someone is stung, get medical help immediately, especially for children, and do not cut the wound or use home remedies that delay care.

Where you will find it
1 sectorCommon questions about Scorpion
What should I do after a scorpion sting?
Go to a doctor or hospital quickly, especially for a child or if there is severe pain, sweating or vomiting. Do not cut or suck the wound. Stay calm and keep the person still.
Why do scorpions come into the house?
They follow insects, seek shelter and cooler, damp places and can enter through very small gaps. They are most noticed after rain.
Can I keep scorpions out with sealing alone?
Sealing helps greatly, but you also need to remove their hiding places outside and reduce their prey inside.
Are all scorpions dangerous?
Most are painful but not life-threatening. A few species, such as the Indian red scorpion, can be dangerous, so treat all stings as a medical matter.
