What is an anti-termite reticulation system?

A reticulation system (also called a termite tubing system, porous pipe system or termite pipe system) is a grid of micro-perforated pipe laid in the sand bed under your floor and along the building periphery during construction. Termiticide is injected through junction boxes outside the building, so the soil barrier can be recharged every few years — with no drilling, no dust, no furniture shifting and no exposure to chemical smell indoors.

Conventional post-construction treatment means drilling 12-inch grids into finished marble, tile or wooden flooring. With reticulation the pipe is already there — you simply connect a pump to the junction box.

TermiPore is an elastomeric (TPE) reticulation pipe with a honeycomb structure and pressure-operated micro-holes — more holes open as pressure rises, so termiticide is always delivered evenly. Choose the size by where the pipe will be laid.

Tested with all termiticides

Compatible with EC and SC formulations — imidacloprid, fipronil, chlorpyriphos, bifenthrin. Manufacturer recommends EC formulations; SC must be mixed thoroughly. Always flush with 3–5 litres of clean soft water after injection.

Why TermiPore and not a cheaper pipe?

The reticulation pipe is buried under your floor for the life of the building. If it collapses, blocks or cracks, there is no way to replace it without breaking the floor — so the pipe itself is the one place not to economise.

  • No load-bearing data, no ageing test, no traceability
  • Cannot be inspected or replaced once the floor is laid

Simple test used by the manufacturer: you would not use an agricultural PVC pipe for a building's plumbing — so why use an irrigation pipe for its termite protection?

How TermiPore is installed

TermiPore can be installed before, during or after construction — in the soil at plinth level, over PCC under the tiles, or in a trench around the periphery of an existing building.

  1. Treat the soil firstComplete the pre-construction anti-termite soil treatment as per IS 6313, then compact and level the soil. TermiPore is a delivery system, not a replacement for the initial treatment.
  2. Dig grooves and lay sandCut grooves about 3 inches deep along the borders and in a 4 × 4 ft criss-cross grid; spread coarse sand in the groove. For PCC installation, lay in the sand/brick layer between PCC and tile.
  3. Lay the pipeRun TermiPore along all walls and columns. Use elbows at sharp corners — never bend the pipe tight. Secure with clamps and cable ties. Use plain PVC pipe when crossing beams and for inlets.
  4. Plan injection pointsProvide a junction box every 25–40 running metres (max continuous run 25–30 m). Use brass nipples/elbows at the injection point for long life. Keep boxes on the external wall so re-treatment never disturbs residents.
  5. Test before coveringInject and test the whole network while it is still visible, correct anything that does not flow, then cover the pipe with coarse sand — never let wet cement touch the pipe.
  6. Close and hand overPlug all open ends before leaving site, record the layout, and give the customer the junction box locations for future recharge.

Do

  • ✔ Cover the pipe with coarse sand above and below
  • ✔ Inject at about 1 kg/cm² (1 bar) — 0.5 or 1 HP pump, or a battery sprayer
  • ✔ Use clean, soft, low-TDS water for dilution
  • ✔ Flush with 3–5 litres of clean water after every injection
  • ✔ Install just before flooring so other trades cannot damage the pipe

Don't

  • ✘ Let wet cement touch TermiPore — it blocks the micro-holes
  • ✘ Bring the pipe above floor level — use plain PVC or brass there
  • ✘ Bend it at sharp corners instead of using an elbow
  • ✘ Use powder termiticide dissolved in water — liquid EC/SC only
  • ✘ Leave pipe ends open after installing or injecting

⚠️ Beware of duplicates

Because reticulation pipe is buried and invisible, the market has copies that look similar and fail in a few years. Original TermiPore carries four checks — insist on all four, whoever you buy from.
